Meet Hayley Orlinsky of Chicago!
Hayley has been making rainbow loom bracelets at home and selling them to raise money for Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She’s raised almost $15,000 so far! We think she’s the epitome of Kind. Did we mention that she’s only seven years old? Read below for our very first “Wear Your Character” interview with Hayley and what makes her an inspiring Makoshey girl.

Name: Hayley
Age: 7
Favorite hobbies, activities, and/or sports: Dance, gymnastics
Who’s your hero?
Lori Lightfoot because she has kept Chicago safe during this time.
If you could have any superpower, what would you pick and why?
I would fly so I could spread kindness everywhere!
What inspired you to do what you do?
I heard on the news that hospital workers needed masks and other personal protective equipment during coronavirus. So I thought I could do what I love (make bracelets), sell them to people and give all of the money to the hospital.
What do you hope other kids can learn from your experience?
I hope they can learn to never give up. Keep trying and trying!
What advice do you have for other kids looking to get involved in the community or supporting charities?
Find something you love to do and pick a cause that’s important to you. Then find a way to give back.
