About Makoshey

Makoshey makes clothes to empower and inspire kids ages 2-14. As parents of four kids, we see most brands featuring clothes that feel very gendered. Tight and short fit and light colors for girls, and looser fit and bolder colors for boys. With messages and color palettes conforming to gender stereotypes, we often struggle to find awesome clothes to match all our kids’ interests.

When we launched, we started as a brand for girls. And while girl empowerment is still a very important part of who we are, we realized it is important to include all kids in our brand. It is true that all kids love the soft, tagless shirts, sweatshirts, and pants that we carry and the graphics and positive messages they convey. We’ve now expanded our empowering tees and cozy sweatshirts into adult sizes so that you can match with your littles!

We are a family-owned, family-run business with mom as CEO.  Our name comes from Grandma Hilde Makoshey (pronounced Mack-O-Shay). She was always herself, and we believe that’s how our kids, and all kids, should be too.
